Good Morning Everyone!!!
Welcome to all of our new players and guessers to our Cinema Saturday Challenge! Every week we pick a movie from which to draw inspiration from in creating a card, layout or altered creation. This week we are excited to feature the movie Finding Nemo for our Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge! (Did you like the sneak peeks and the sneak peek reveal!?!) Our dear Brooke has been very sick recently - so she is resting right now - please send her some love! We are also excited that our Audrey winner from last week Juli is joining us this week along with a very special guest designer: Taylor VanBruggen (yippeeee :)! I love working with Taylor as part of her Baker's Dozen Design Team and Brooke and I are thrilled that she is joining us this week and giving away some yummy blog candy (more about that at the end). Taylor's movie pick was for the movie Finding Nemo and the Challenge requirement this week is a color challenge that Taylor picked out: are the above four colors: navy blue, turquoise blue, an orangey prawn and white as a neutral! Finding Nemo won an Oscar in 2004 for Best Animated Feature! One of my favorite descriptions of the movie is its tagline: 71% of the Earth's surface is covered by water. That's a lot of space to find one fish! Love it! And we hope you will love playing along with us! And to make it a little sweeter - there is blog candy involved!!!
BLOG CANDY did you say!??!??!!
Taylor is giving away YOUR choice of the newest holiday stamp sets that have just been released from Taylored Expressions as blog candy for this challenge!!! HOW yummy is that???!!! Thank You SO much Taylor!!!
Sankari's Card Inspired by the movie: Finding Nemo:
I am so excited to play along for this challenge - I love this movie but I was really stumped for what to make and then I thought about the different themes of the movie: father/son, friendship, finding courage, letting go etc. and the one theme that I loved was just the essence of the father and son relationship that through everything their love was for "always". Marlin's adventure to find his son Nemo is so amazing and inspirational - that no matter what the odds, you will do anything and overcome anything for love! I was inspired by the journey and so I created a card with little fishes jumping out of the ocean with the words "me and you - always" for the sentiment.
here is a closer peek of the fishes :)
All the papers, fishes, frame etc. is digital - you can check out my blog for more information :)
I had so much fun playing along. A huge thank you to Taylor for the yummy blog candy and for being our guest designer! Woot!
Big hugs!
Sankari :)
Taylor's Card Inspired by the movie: Finding Nemo:
Taylor has always been an inspiration to me with her awesome style and amazingly beautiful creations! This week she has created this most amazing card with her awesome clear favor circles to make a little virtual fish bowl! So awesome!!
I'm so excited to be the special guest designer for the Cinema Saturday Challenge today! When Sankari asked if I'd be interested I knew right away what movie I wanted to use for inspiration! I'm a sucker for animated movies and Finding Nemo is one of my absolute favorites. I just love that little fish!
This is simply such a beautiful card!!!
Please check out Taylor's blog for more details of her lovely creation!
Last week, our Audrey went to Juli for here sweet card that captured a father/son moment of Mrs. Doubtfire and this week are happy that Juli has joined us as our guest designer:
Juli's Card Inspired by the movie: Finding Nemo
Here is the inspiration from Juli: My first thought for "Finding Nemo"was the love of a father for his children, which reminded me of the "Mrs. Doubtfire" Challenge two weeks ago! But that image is so 'two weeks ago'! heehee My next thought was the same stamp set, but the image of the little boy building a sand castle. This image reminds me not only of the beach and the sea, but also of the 'home' Nemo leaves behind in search of adventure. Then I thought about a clown fish made out of punches. So how to incorporate the two ideas? Why a birthday card with a 'gift' attached - a clown fish jumbo clippie bookmark!
I went to the Disney "Finding Nemo" website and looked at gallery pictures there to try to re-create a clown fish for the clippie bookmark. I like the outcome, and it got thumbs up and smiles from my kids too! Thanks to Taylor for the color combo challenge - I always enjoy trying new color combinations, especially when they are still inside my comfort zone! THANK YOU Sankari and Brooke for awarding me the Audrey Award, and giving me the chance to be a guest designer this week! I look forward to seeing everyones creations...ENJOY!

And a huge thanks to all of you who joined us last week to play along with Elizabeth: The Golden Age :) We loved peeking at all of your lovely creations!!! We truly appreciate you playing along with us and the best part is - seeing your interpretation of the movie :) We loved Nancy's lovely creation - the blue reminded us of her beautiful dress and the crowns were beautiful! We hope you will join us next week as our guest designer and hope you will display your Audrey on your blog! A huge thanks to everyone who played along with us! You guys ROCK!!!

This is a great challenge! I am loving all the fishy designs. Thanks for letting me play!!
I love this movie, and the colors look great in the movie and in everyone's project, but I always have trouble combining blue and orange. I used coral and my card looks great, but all my photos came ouot with a more pink look. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys it.
I'm glad I had a reason to use my "fish egg" tiny marbles on a project! I love the colors for this challenge!
I have little to no fishy items, so I chose the color scheme with the theme of love and being apart from a loved one with this 'thinking of you' card. And LOVE the movie!
