Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #46 - Field of Dreams

Good Morning Everyone!!! We are so excited to feature the 1989 Academy Award nominated movie: Field of Dreams for today's movie challenge! There are two taglines from this movie that are so inspiring! The first is: "All his life, Ray Kinsella was searching for his dreams. Then one day, his dreams came looking for him." and the second tagline that is inspiring is: "If you believe the impossible, the incredible can come true. " Among other categories - this movie was nominated for Best Picture and is a movie that inspires the audience to reach for your dreams and enlivens the value of hope, faith and listening to the inner guiding voice. It is truly beyond a sports genre film - and rather, as one movie review wrote: ".... it is a testament to the timeless nature of its story and the universal reach of its theme of family, faith and redemption."

So this week - we hope that this movie inspires you!
And our challenge requirement for this card creation is to have some red stitching in your card/creation.
This can be faux stitching (like with a pen, gel pen, etc.)
or it could be with embroidery thread or with sewing - whatever you would like!)

Sankari's Card inspired by the movie: Field of Dreams:

I hadn't really wanted to see this movie because I thought it was kind of a baseball movie - but watching the movie as I made the card for today's challenge - totally moved me - its really so much beyond a story about baseball. I was inspired by the journey that Kevin Costner's character took in listening to "the voice" and the ending of the movie is just so touching. So I made my card as a tribute to enjoying the journey that we are all on and used the baseball as a motif from the movie - I wanted to make a rugged, manly boy card - and you have no idea how much pain it caused to sponge the baseball in way that wasn't pretty (lol :) I wanted it to look a little rugged - as life's journey sometimes is:

And after making such a card with "not pretty" sponging - I wanted to make a more "pretty" card so I made this one because I was totally inspired by the quote: This quote totally makes me think of the movie - because he listened to that "voice":

You can check out more details at my blog later today!
Thanks so much for checking out our blog today! Can't wait to see your creations!!!

Guest Designer Darlene Deon's card:
Our Guest Designer this week is Darlene Deon who was our Audrey recipient from the movie: The Thief Lord for this lovely card. We are happy that she joined us this week with this beautiful card - love the part of the sentiment of the joyful memories and love and laughter - and can see that in this movie - and the red stitching is just beautiful!

Thank you so much Darlene for sharing your beautiful card and for being our Guest Designer!

---------------------------

And thank you to everyone who played along in last week's totally fun and rad movie challenge - Sixteen Candles where the challenge was to use 80's colors! We totally loved all your bombdigity cards that were totally Def! It was hard to pick one card! One creation that totally caught our attention was Karli's creatively awesome cake in the box creation (and she now has a tutorial for it too)! Karli we hope that you will display your Audrey in your blog and join us next week as our guest designer! A huge thanks for everyone who played along - it was seriously so much fun to blog hop and read all of your comments about the 80's (what a fun, strange "colorful" decade it was!)

So are you ready to play along with us this week!!! We hope so! All you have to do is to create a card inspired by the movie Field of Dreams (this can inspired from the movie's different costumes, characters, themes, quotes, music, etc.) and this week's requirement is to use some red stitching in your card (it can faux, embroidery, sewing - whatever you would like!). Post the link to your direct blog post to Mr.Linky so we can check out your beautiful creations!

Please link to our blog by Thursday August 27th at 9PM, PST !

Also - we have some exciting things planned for our 50th blog challenge which is coming up (this includes celebrating our 49th, 50th and 51st challenges!!!) - so stay tuned!!!

We can't wait to see your lovely creations!!!
Big Hugs!

you know I don't think I have ever seen this movie in full - will have to see if I can fit it in this week. The red stitching requirement is a great one... looking forward to creating something (the cogs are whiring already)

I love this movie! I also loved your cards Brooke, Sankari and Darlene! Would we have the courage to do what a voice tells you to do? I based my card on Moonlight Graham. I love this character because he was a country doctor. I used one of his lines from the movie on my card. I don't see Mr. Linky so

Here's my card
