Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #20- The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons

Welcome Everyone to our Oscar Celebration! This idea was inspired by Ann from Creative Antics, who reminded us about the Oscars and so in keeping with that, we thought that we would do something different this saturday and do one of the movies that has been nominated for an Oscar this year: The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons. This is a little different because it is a current movie and we know, that maybe some of you might not have seen it yet, but that's okay - we would love you to play along because the theme of this card is to go vintage.

Can you believe that this is our 20th movie challenge!! Whoa! How time flies. Speaking of time... this movie is all about love lasting through time - through every stage and age. It also explores time spinning backward and moving forward at the same time. There are really some amazing concepts in this week's movie.

You all were so clever in guessing along with us yesterday! You all always amaze us by your guesses!! This movie is inspired from F.Scott Fitzgerald's 1921 inspired short story by the same name. According to Wikipedia, this movie: "has received 13 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress." All of the movies up for nomination are amazing and we can't wait to see who the Oscar goes to tomorrow evening :)

The Requirement this week:
Is to go vintage! Even if you haven't seen this movie, we would love you to play along and make vintage inspired by the tagline from this movie which is:

Life isn't measure in minutes, but in moments.

Brooke's Card inspired by the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons.

I find it funny that this movie was inspired by a short story.. It's not a short movie. My sweetie and I went to this movie together on a date. I did found myself thinking about the length of this move in the later part of it. My thought were not about the movie being to long but that it had captured my attention for such a long time and still had a great part of the story to go.  Brad pit is so amazing in this move. What a talented actor he is. What a great cast in general...  Cate Blanchett is so perfect for this roll. When I read her bio I was so surprised to not read anything about her dance training! If she was never formally trained she fooled me. She is a beautiful dancer with beautiful lines. She looks so amazing as a mother of 3 and 40 years old her youngest was born in April 2008. She was given good genes that for sure.. Elle Fanning who first plays the young Daisy has the coolest little voice it caught my attention. Listen for it when you watch the movie.. she is really beautiful as well. (Dakota Fanning's little sister). When I was reading about the casting of this movie is was cool to see the other men who plain Benjamin through out the movie in different time periods. They pull it of so well you just think Brad Pitt is playing them all.  Hope you all enjoy learning more about the movie. Run out an see it if you haven't it's a great movie.

Sankari's Card inspired by the movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons.

I had been resisting seeing this movie - I don't know why exactly. I went to see it with one of my dear friends and was somehow not expecting anything huge (I thought it would be a good movie, but nothing spectacular). Well, by the end of the movie - I was just sobbing.... I don't even know why - but I was just in love with the movie... there is something so simple and beautiful about it and I thought Cate Blanchett and Brad Pitt (whom, I normally don't really like) were amazing - they both did such an amazing job! I couldn't believe how affected I was by the movie - I can't wait to see it again!

Without giving anything away about the movie - I loved loved loved the theme of a love story moving through time. One of my favorite scenes is when he says to her something like: I want to remember us in this moment as we are right now as they both were looking in the mirror - I totally loved that scene and so that was my inspiration for this card - where I wanted to capture a moment in time. I found pictures of my husband and myself when we were both young and enclosed that in a locket. This is a special card for my husband, who came home last night after a 2 week buisness trip. The little paper pieces that are curling on the top right corner was kinda of like a symbol of time unravelling. I love the little pictures of us when we were a baby - and always have imagined how wonderful it would be if we had grown up together and been together from the very begininng. But I am so thankful and grateful that we found each other and this little card was a little love note for his return.

I can't wait to see the rest of the movies nominated for an Oscar - they all look incredible and I can't wait to find out who the Oscars go to tommorow night. I am so glad that I had a chance to see one of the movies up for an Oscar - if you have a chnace - Give The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons a spin! - can't wait to hear what you think about it! You can check out more pictures and details on my blog.
