Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge - #23 "Waking Ned Devine"

First of all I would like to wish Brooke and her Dear Husband a Happy 18th anniversary tomorrow!! YAY!!!  They are such a cutie couple who just inspire me with their love for each other - Happy Anniversary you guys!!!!
Top of the Morning to ya!!! With St. Patty's right around the corner (Tuesday, March 17th), we wanted to do a fun a little Irish movie - and we were so excited to pick the fun comedy released in 1998: Waking Ned Devine This movie won 7 awards and 9 nominations and is definitely a sweet and fun comdey - A quick simple plot summary from Wikipedia reads: " When word reaches Jackie O'Shea (Bannen) and Michael O'Sullivan (Kelly), two elderly best friends, that someone in their tiny Irish village of Tulaigh Mhór (Tullymore) has won the Irish National Lottery's Lotto game, they go to great lengths to find the winner so they can share the wealth.
So you have never seen the movie? No worries!!! Brooke found a link on Hulu.com where you can watch the whole movie for free in the comfort of your own home... of your own house!! yay!
****** We thought that a fun required element for this week would be to go green!
Add a little green to your card - or a whole lot of green --- which ever you would like...Just have fun!!!! **********

Brooke Card Inspired by the movie: Waking Ned Devine~

Ok girls! I totally had so much fun making this card. Wouldn't you totally love getting an invitation to a game night with friends like this. You totally have to plan an amazing night of fun after giving a card that says FUN!  I know this card doesn't say lottery but I think winning the Jackpot is kinda the same idea. We are a family that really LOVES to play games. I think I might even make these invitation for my kids to invite them to a game night at our own house just let them know we think they are COOL and we are excited hang out with them.  I  check netflicks.com to see if they had this movie on instant download and no luck. I tried Youtube, No luck. I struck the jackpot with Hulu.com though. Here is the link if you would like to view this movie with out even leaving your homes.

Full length film

I am going to try to make another card this week that might look a little more like the movie. But if not. I hope you enjoy creating a WINNER!

Sankari's Card for Brooke & Regan inspired by Waking Ned Devine

First of all, I just LOVE this movie (and I canNOT believe that it was released almost 11 years ago? where did the time fly?) I love the comedy in this movie and just love the town coming togeher... also love the little love story too... I have to admit that I had a slight crush on James Nesbitt :) I love it at the end when they toast to Ned ... what an amazing amazing shot!!!! I hope all of you have a chance to see this movie - sooo thrilled that Brooke found it on Hulu!! (And if you haven't heard of hulu.com --- you have to check it out - what an awesome site!!! And second of all, I LOVE green -- its my favorite color, so I decided to go almost all green!

Well - my card is an anniversary card for my dear friend Brooke and her husband Regan, whose anniversary is tomorrow!! YAY!!!

Congrats on 18 you guys! I have been meaning to make a card all week and mail it out to them... but that just did not happen... in trying to figure out a card for this movie - I had an aha! moment... to make a card using the lottery theme!! So I used the date from their wedding to kind of look like lottery numbers/ coin slot machine and then stamped the sentiment: lucky day underneath. The inside of the card is also decorated with the same color motif and also I stamped the sentiment Happy Anniversary

Brooke and her husband are just soooo cute!! I have so enjoyed getting to talk to both of them on the phone - Reagan has the best hellos! He always makes me feel so welcome and always cracks me up too! He simply adores Brooke, I remember I called one time when they were getting ready to go out and Brooke was getting dressed... and Reagan said something like.. She is putting on her make up, although she doesn't need any - she is just perfect as she is..... awwww!!! And you all know how much I adore Brooke - she is just the sweetest!!! They are just soooo cute together on the phone and I can't wait to meet both of them someday soon!!!  Happy Anniversary you two love birds!!!

Well I did guess you might have a St. Patty's theme - but no way would I have ever gotten this movie, I haven't seen it! Maybe I need to suggest it for movie night with hubby tonight! :-) Love both of your cards - the game night invitation is too fun, and the anniversary card is just perfect! Thanks as always for adding a little excitement to my Fri/Sat, it's crazy how much I love to watch the sneak peeks and reveal! :-)

I saw the movie years ago, but it will be fun to see it again. I'm glad it's on Hulu. We LOVE hulu.com! We watch shows at night before bed, like "30 Rock".

Oh I LOVED that movie. DH & I saw it like 10 years ago or more in the theatres. Absolutely hilarious bits & just a wonderful movie. Can't wait to play this week.

I shall have to see if MIL has this, Hulu only works if you are in the US. And I was right about those peeks being from the one shot!

Thanks for the info about hulu.com I hadn't heard of it. I'm sure my kids have but i'm the last to know! I just order the game night stamp set and love your card. I can't wait to see the movie. Very tricky, same scene sneak peak, & how did you guess that Carol? Gotta see the movie. Thanks for letting me join in with my guessing.

I just thought the lighting and the angle and wood all looked to match! And then when I started seeing the eggs I thought "small/country town general store"... we just needed to put that with the Irish theme and we may have got it, LOL.

Hi Ladies, well that was an inspired choice for an movie!! I cant believe no-one commented on the guys going for a swim. My very favourite scene is that bit of rapid bicycle riding (you HAVE to see it to know it). My husband and son and I saw it in the front row of our local cinema and almost didn't stay because the seats were SO close to the front.... but then we laughed so much it made up for the discomfort. Happy St Patrick's Day on Tuesday everyone and Happy Anniversary Brooke.

I did watch this movie on hula.com tonight. I loved the part with the skinny, naked man on the bicycle! I don't believe that I had seen this before. I had fun making this card. I don't know if I am "lucky" or not by being the first one!
