Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #69 - Dan in Real Life

Good Morning Everyone and Welcome to our 69th Challenge movie challenge which is Dan in Real Life! This movie is a heartwarming, very true to life story a kind of "drama-dy (that word was invented by Tori Wilds, who is sitting next to me at my copic class right now :) of the love of family and love. Simply so sweet - and we hope you like it! The challenge requirement this week is to use some thing collage-ish in your creation - because family sometimes is a collection of different people, journeys, emotion, relationships - we thought this would be a fun challenge requirement!

Sankari's Card inspired by Dan In Real Life:
I am at a Copic Class today and sadly, my last minute-ness didn't let me make a card - but I can't wait to get home and make one - love this movie and can't wait to see your creations!!

Brooke's card inspired by the movie: Dan in Real Life

Welcome to one of my favorite movies girlies... I actually wouldn't watch this movie for quite a long time... Because of Steve Carell.. I just going to say it.. I don't really care for the t.v. program "The Office" It's painful to watch... My Sweetheart ordered this movie on Netflicks and so I consented and YA!! I was in for a great surprise... This movie has a great case Juliette Binoche is so Beautiful. You will really enjoy this movie I promise.. It is so easy to relate to wether you are married or not, have kids/teens or even sibling.. This movie has great Family dynamic in this movie..

If you have ever dropped by my blog the soundtrack will sound very familiar.

My inspiration came from one of the funniest lines in the movie.
DAN~ This Corn is just like an Angel..

I also wanted to share the Love that Dan and all his family has for each other.. And how much they need and support each other... Even in moments of craziness.

Have fun with this movie...

This week we have a wonderful guest designer: Laural-Lee, who joins us with this beautiful creation! Laural-Lee received the Audrey for the Movie Challenge: Tristan and Isolde with this beautiful gatefold card.

Laural-Lee's Card inspired by Dan In Real Life:

“Love is not a feeling, Mr. Burns. It's an ability.” There’s a point in the movie where Dan talks to Marie about this and Marie points out that Dan’s daughter is gifted because she has a strong ability to love Dan. That got my wheels turning. There are many days when I don’t feel very loving. In fact, there are days, when I think I’d rather be out digging ditches than at home with my three kids trying to ‘survive’. I argue with them (as calmly as I can of course :) because I love them and I’m trying to point them in the right direction. I listen to them (or at least try to) when they have something on their mind. I encourage them to keep practicing their reading or spelling or music lessons because I see how their accomplishments give them confidence. I persist and I dig deeper inside myself to find patience, kindness, and forgiveness because I love them. After that long thought, I remembered that it’s not only me. My hubby does the same.

He can be so patient with them in areas that I am not. He is able to teach them certain things that I don’t think to teach them. Since I’m human and not perfect, he’s takes over the loving and nurturing when I’m completely tapped out. It was with these fond thoughts of my dh that I decided to make him a Father’s Day card. He may not say the ‘L’ word often but the kids could never doubt his love for them through his actions.

On another side thought, this movie made me realize that I am blessed because I am able to love. It’s so hard to believe (and so sad) that there are people out there who are unable to love. While loving my children might not always give me warm fuzzies and goosebumps, it is reassuring and rewarding to see them learning how to love.

Thank you sooo much Laural-Lee for being our guest designer!! LOVE this gorgeous creation of yours!! Simply beautiful - and the sentiment is perfect!

_______________________________

So who's going to be our next guest designer? It could be you! All you have to do is to create a card, layout, altered project, etc., that is inspired by the movie: Spider-Man! Your inspiration can come from the costumes, the dialogue, the music, the themes, the characters, the colors - anything at all from the movie!! *****The challenge element for this movie - is to create something that is collage-ish! Maybe a grouping of diff. embellies or sentiments, or images... whatever you think!

Please link by to us by this Thursday March, 11th by 8PM Central Time and we will announce the Audrey winner on Friday with sneak peeks for the next movie!!!

Can't wait to see your collage creations!

Big hugs,
the Cinema Sisters :))

Oh, I like this movie! I don't watch the Office, but I love Steve Carrell. He always plays such lovable, "normal" kind of characters. This one will be a challenge! Thanks girls!!
