Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #70 Dear Frankie

Welcome to our Cinema challenge where this week we are featuring the movie: Dear Frankie! As much as we love the big blockbusters, we also love featuring movies that might not be that famous but are just amazing! If you haven't seen this movie - you MUST! It is just a gem of a movie! Seriously - this is one of the most heartwarming movies that we have both seen - you will fall in love with it! We don't want to give away too much, but the reason the challenge requirement is to use a little bit of a map is because Frankie (the little boy) keeps track of his father's voyages on a map. We can't express enough - how beautiful of a movie this is --- it is full of love stories (the love between a mother for her daughter, the fierce love of a mother for her child, the love that grows between two strangers and the love of a "father" for his son) - its just beautiful! We know you will love it! Here is a trailer of the movie for you to enjoy:
Hope you will play along with us!

Brooke's Card inspired by the movie~ Dear Frankie

I love foreign films. I really don't have a problem with accents distracting me either.. When we came across this amazing love story a few years ago... We totally fell in love with it... Mind you Gerard Butler was not the big star he now is in the U.S.. This move touches you in so many ways. The Love that a mother has for a child, whether it's a grown up child (mother & daughter) or a small child (mother & son). Learning to open your heart and make room for others can be so healing. Children can work miracles and Frankie is so trusting and loving...

My inspiration starters for this movie are 4 very important parts in the movie.. First the map and all the places Frankie marks showing where his da's ship is traveled to using little red flags. Second the Stamps collection Frankie and his da(mother) are sharing with each other.. Third the letters that Frankie and his da(mother) are writing to each other. Last the hearts are showing the love that is to be when you open your live to new love.

This movie is a MUST see. You will not be disappointed only lifted up by watching "Dear Frankie"

Stop by and say hi!
Hugs,
Brooke

Sankari's Card inspired by the movie~ Dear Frankie

The first thing that I want to say is that if you haven't seen this movie - you MUST see it! I can't express enough - how beautiful of a movie it is - so sweet. I remembered loving it the first time I saw it but honestly, after having children - it pulls at my heart strings even more - and I totally relate to how fiercely Lizzie protects her son Frankie and only wants the best for him. Seriously, even more in love with it :) For my card, I was inspired by the map that Frankie keeps of his father's voyages and how he tracks his adventures. When he finally meets his "father", he has such an instant connection to him - he doesn't want him to go... and from there I created the sentiment: I'd Follow You Anywhere":

I printed off a map of the Scottish seas/lochs and used that as my background and also punched out hearts with it and added a trail of buttons on the hearts. As Brooke said: This movie is a MUST see - its such a gem of movie - you will love it!
You can hop on over to my blog to read more details of this card :)
Big hugs!
Sankari :)

So who's going to be our next guest designer? It could be you! All you have to do is to create a card, layout, altered project, etc., that is inspired by the movie: Dear Frankie! Your inspiration can come from the costumes, the dialogue, the music, the themes, the characters, the colors - anything at all from the movie!! *****The challenge element for this movie - is to create something with some bits of a map (you can use map paper, or digi paper, or map of the internet).

Please link by to us by this Thursday March, 18th by 8PM Central Time and we will announce the Audrey winner on Friday with sneak peeks for the next movie!!!

Can't wait to see your mapped out creations!

Big hugs,

This movie is so touching and absolutely fantastic. Be ready with a tissue box. This is the movie I first discovered the Gerard Buttler charm. You don't want to miss the unbelievable performances of this movie.

Another great UK film to watch is Inside I'm Dancing (aka Rory O'Shea was Here) with a wonderful performance by another Scot James McAvoy.
