Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #75 - Oklahoma

This week for our 75th (that's right, the big 75) we are featuring the 2 time Oscar winning movie from 1955 : Oklahoma. This week when you all sit down to create your Oklahoma master pieces try to incorporate a card that really reflects the movie.. You could make corn stocks as high as an Elephants Eye, Girls in Gingham dresses,Western cards. Use some of the catch phrases or song lyrics/titles to spring board off of. Don't focus on gingham as the theme of the card. Remember it's just a form of inspiration. Feel free to use a layout from another challenge.. We have found that our movie inspired cards have become some of our very favorites ever because we had really captured the spirit of the movie. Where else will you have the opportunity to make a card that is not focused on birthday's, thanks, friends etc.. For us this challenge is all about artistic expression an outlet that is just for us! A little me time if you will. Time away from preparing for workshops, meeting deadlines and getting back to the reason we got into paper crafting all together. We hope you all fine joy in our challenge. We are so glad you are all part of our lives.

Don't forget to check out WHO DID THE NEWEST REMAKE OF THIS MOVIE???
He is also dreamy.... HERE

Brooke's Card inspired by the movie ~ OKLAHOMA

Good morning everyone!

For this weeks card I was was inspired by the first and second verse of the song:

"Oh What a Beautiful Mornin' "

Oh, what a BEAUTIFUL MORNIN'
Oh, what a BEAUTIFUL DAY!
I've got a beautiful feelin'
Everything's goin' my way.

There's a bright, golden haze on the meadow
There's a bright, golden haze on the meadow
The corn is as high as an elephant's eye
And it look like it's climbing clear up to the sky.

This movie always surprises me... Each time I watch this movie I am reminded by some of the greatest songs ever written.. You know those songs you grew up hearing your mother/grandmother singing. Maybe you were even luck to have grown up in the era of AMAZING musical wonder... I think I was meant to been born in a different era for music and dance.. But I defiantly don't want to be June Cleaver.. I have the most AMAZING husband that is very much a partner in all things... Plus I just can't see doing all the house work in heals.. I would be over 6 ft tall if I did.. LOL

Back to the movie... Shirly Jones is so adorable as Laurey. She has the most amazing waist line in yikes! She can sing and dance and really bring the character to life.. And Gordan McCray as Curly has the most Romantic voice... Swoon here

This little romantic western musical is a hoot.. Laurey and Curly have to fight to keep there relationship strong and also help Ado Annie from running of with the new peddler that just came to town... And she just "Cain't say NO" This song is so whinny it will crack you up.. I remember a classmate audition for a musical singing this song.. We all had a giggle over the song at the time.. Then you have the typical scene where all the girls are up in the bedroom getting ready for the dance etc and stressing over if the guy is going to like them or not... All around this is just one of those wonderful family movie ALL can watch together and make great memories together..

Hope ya'll enjoy the show now...
Have a Beautiful Day!

Sankari's Card inspired by the movie ~ OKLAHOMA
Hi Everyone, as you can see no card from me today. My parents have been visiting this week (they are leaving in a couple of days) and I haven't had much time to create this week. Their visit is so rare here and from early morning walks with my mom to late night talks with my parents and DH, I haven't had a chance to duck into my craft corner. My parents live so far off, and anytime with them is so precious - its simply been a wonderful week - not to mention that I think I must have gained 50lbs. from my mom's cooking this week... sheesh!
I can't wait to make a card for this movie - the songs always seem to get stuck in my head! I remember we did this musical in highschool. Musicals are just such fun generes - they incorporate so much of the theater :) Well, I can't wait to make a card for this one - stay tuned for one coming up soon :))) Also hope to get all the Audreys/Cinema Inspired Creations by tomorrow - sorry for my lack of togetherness this week :( I promise to be more on top of it next week :)
Hope you guys are doing fantastic!
Big hugs to all,
Sankari :)

Please link to us by this Thursday, April 22th by 8PM Central Time! and we will announce the Audrey winner on Friday with sneak peeks for the next movie!

Can't wait to see your gorgeous creations!!
