Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #37 "High School Musical

Tomorrow marks the summer solstice in North America (wish our Aussie friends were up here to celebrate it with us - big hugs to all of you!!!)  and to celebrate the official start to summer, we thought it would be fun to do an end of school movie and so we are happy to present the movie: High School Musical as our featured movie today (you can pick any of the High School Movies that you would like to do for this challenge). According to Wikipedia the first High School Musical has been described like a modern Romeo and Juliet (without the tragedy part :) as two members from rival cliques try out for lead positions in a high school musical. AND! It was filmed in East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah - where our own Brooke went to High School!! Look at the sweet pics of Brooke and her sweet daughter at East High!

This week we are happy to be joined by Carol Dunstan who was our Audrey recipient from the Cinema Challenge - Some Like it Hot. The challenge requirement this week is to use School Letters (that can be something like Varsity Letters, or a kid's lettering font or anything school letter-ish or to use numbers  as a main feature of your card.
So have fun and letter or number it up!

Brooke Project Inspired by the movie High School Musical:

Sorry no picture in the book yet. I need more ink!
More info on my blog.

East High Class of 1989
(I know I'm totally old)

Brooke and Abbie dancing on the stage of East High... Guess what it's not my first time...

Brooke and Abbie sitting just under the balcony where Sharpay had her big cafeteria screen. With every movie they change the decor...
You guessed it "20" years ago I graduated from none other that the famous EAST HIGH.. Which is really in SLC, Utah... Where they film most Disney movies.. We can pretty much pick out the cast and location of them all.

We had out class reunion this last weekend. So we had the highschool Musical tour... What an ordeal.. It was really hard to arrange evidently.. They charged a TON and our class officers had to even get insurance for the tour... LAME... The best part of the tour was when our guide announced... Our next stop is "Sharpay's Locker" You should have heard the squeals of all the little girls... priceless. It was great to be back on the stage of East again I was able to do many performances there and treasure all of them.. East has one of the biggest stages of any high school. They even have an Orchestra pit.. Not very many schools have that.

I will post more pictures on my blog... You have to attend your class reunions... It's fun to get reconnected with old friends.. And you never know... You might even make new friends.. It cool to connect with people who you though didn't know you even existed and have them tell you how much they had admired you... They are always those who never change.. But sad for them for not moving past high school or venturing of into the world...

Hope you enjoy the show...

Hugs
Brooke

Sankari's Card Inspired by the movie High School Musical:

Okay so I have to admit - I saw High School Musical last night - and then made my card right after! For some reason - I was trying to avoid seeing this movie - I don't know it felt so teenager-ish and I felt suddenly "old" - but I have to say it was a fun viewing and I can totally see why this movie is a hit - fun songs - hip actors - (and finally now I know who Zac Ephron is who all my little nieces have a crush on!).

I wanted to make a fun card that was a little quirky and used the Princeton font on my computer to generate the sentiment " I love you Pi Squared" -( I wanted to use both the School Letters and numbers requirement for this challenge ) and also because I love the scene in the movie where they bake her a cake with the math character: "Pi").  I adore this little funky button - I knew I was saving it for a reason :)and used Taylor's fun sketch for this card layout :) For more details - you can check my blog (a little later today- as everything is somewhat last minute this morning :)

Big Hugs!
Happy Summer :)
Sankari :)

Carol's Card Inspired by the movie High School Muscial:
"Thank you to Brooke and Sankari for picking my sweet lollipop card for the “Some Like It Hot” Audrey! That’s exciting in itself, but it’s a bonus when it means you get to be the guest designer the next week. And how fun that it is High School Musical! With two young daughters in the house this has been a favourite around here, although I didn’t think I would like it. I was pleased to find that it was better than most of the Disney tv movies I have seen, so I didn’t mind revisiting it for the challenge. There were a lot of ways I could go with my card, but I felt that I had to have a lot of red and white, and I wanted my card to be a bit of a celebration of the individual."

So are you ready to play along with this week's challenge!!?!!!

We sure hope you join us this week! All you have to do is to make a card or layout or altered project that is inspired by the movie: High School Musical (you can pick any of the High School Musical series for your creation). The inspiration for your creations can be from the music, the characters, the dialogue, the costumes, etc. This week's requirement is to have school letters or numbers as your main embellishment.

All you have to do is to link your creation to our blog by commenting on this post with a link to your direct post with your creation. You can add the direct link of your
blog post to Mr. Linky - not your whole blog - because it makes finding your card int he future much easier. Kristina Werner has created a wonderful video showing how to do this.

Please link to our blog by this Thursday, June 25thth by 9pm PST!

Can't wait to see your creations!!

big Hugs to All!!!!
Sankari and Brooke!
