Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #56 - Legally Blonde

Good Morning Everyone!! Happy Halloween!!! Instead of Halloween movie - we have something a little different in mind for you! This week we are excited to present our 56th challenge featuring the fun movie: Legally Blonde - which was the winner of two Golden Globe Awards and nominated for 9 other awards! Admist all the pink fluff - this is a wonderful movie about going for your dreams, believing in yourself - even when other's question your abilities.

So for this week's challenge requirement, we thought it would be fun to create something that inspires with an encouraging or uplifting sentiment!

Brooke's Card inspired by the movie "Legally Blonde"

I remember when this movie was premiering thinking this is going to be dumb... Isn't is nice to be surprised.. I think that Reese Witherspoon was the reason.. Reese was adorable in this movie.. For me I started out thinking Elle was a really dingbat.. As the movie develops and you see her try so hard to prove her self worth and intelligence she really grows on you and you can't help but root her on... One on my favorite all time relationships in the movie is between Elle and Paulette(Jennifer Coolidge) I love how they help each other out with out even realizing it half of the time, the way real friendship works.. You think outside yourself, you become a good listener and a confidence builder.. Don't we all become better people when we serve others... We can't forget the cutest little star Bruiser Woods.. The little baby doggie is ADORABLE... Go Bruiser! Cute, cute movie...

Visit I.M.D.B for all the cast bio's and more info for this movie here.

Don't forget to check out my blog...

Happy Halloween

Sankari's Invisible Card Inspired by the movie Legally Blonde :)
Hi Everyone! We are finally home from our travels back East - we arrived late last night - and after a whole day of travel with two little kids all by myself - I was exhausted and I am so bummed that I don't have a card ready to go this morning because I love this movie - but I definitely will be making one later on today! Its so good to be back home and so good to start blogging again!!! yay :)
Thank you all for playing along with our challenges!!!
Big hugs! See you Soon!!!
Sankari :)

This week we have two wonderful guest designers!!! Nancy was our Audrey recipient for the 53rd movie challenge: Elizabeth: the Golden Age with this lovely card and Regina was our Audrey recipient for our 54th movie challenge Finding Nemo with this lovely card and we are so excited to welcome them this week as our guest designers for the movie: Legally Blonde! They are so clever and have created some simply lovely cards for today's challenge:

Regina's Card Inspired by the movie~ Legally Blonde
I love how Elle Woods goes for what she wants, with a plucky attitude and a winning personality. The other star of the movie is Bruiser Woods, her adorable chihuahua. My little boy has a beloved stuffed chihuahua (a gift from his Nana), quite possibly the ugliest toy in the universe (no offense, chihuahua-lovers of the world). It is so bizarre people actually stop us on the street to comment. So, naturally, the "star" of my card had to be an homage to this tiny canine.

I don't have any chihuahua stamps, so I decided to draw my own, using my little guy's as a model. Using a light table, I traced the image a second time so that I could pop it out over the big juicy bone I thought would be the perfect "dream." Wanting to keep things simple, I stuck with plain shades of pink (of course!) with just a few brads and a bright ribbon to finish off.

Thanks again for choosing me.
Best,
Regina

How absolutely clever!!! Can't believe that you drew Bruiser!!! And he looks sooo adorable as he looks at the huge bone!!! Simply awesome!!! Thank you so much for joining us this week as our guest designer!!! For more details - check out Regina's awesome blog!

Nancy's creation inspired by the movie: Legally Blonde
So, I just love this movie and it's sequel -I was inspired by so much! Of course, the card HAD to be pink, and Reese Witherspoon/Elle Woods just *sparkles* in this film, so I felt this project called for lots of glitter and stars as well to capture the character. Elle Woods is such an inspiration: she's fun, determined, considerate, and full of courage. I chose the quote: "It takes courage to grow up to be who you really are" as my encouraging sentiment, because Elle really did grow in this film and it took a lot of guts for her to stick with it.
Now, I couldn't leave out one of my favorite parts of the film (I know there are others with me on this...): The "Bend and Snap" scene in the beauty salon. This just makes me laugh out loud every time. So, I made a little "bend and snap" background technique, using rubber bands and craft white ink.

Check out my blog for more details! My family got quite a kick out of me bending and snapping my card -LOL!
I hope you get as much out of this movie as I do, enjoy!!

What a great take on the Bend and Snap part of the movie Nancy! We love your uplifting sentiment as well!!! Thank you so much for joining us this week as our guest designer!!! For more details check out Nancy's wonderful blog!

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #54 - Finding Nemo and Yummy Blog Candy :)

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Welcome to all of our new players and guessers to our Cinema Saturday Challenge! Every week we pick a movie from which to draw inspiration from in creating a card, layout or altered creation. This week we are excited to feature the movie Finding Nemo for our Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge! (Did you like the sneak peeks and the sneak peek reveal!?!) Our dear Brooke has been very sick recently - so she is resting right now - please send her some love! We are also excited that our Audrey winner from last week Juli is joining us this week along with a very special guest designer: Taylor VanBruggen (yippeeee :)! I love working with Taylor as part of her Baker's Dozen Design Team and Brooke and I are thrilled that she is joining us this week and giving away some yummy blog candy (more about that at the end). Taylor's movie pick was for the movie Finding Nemo and the Challenge requirement this week is a color challenge that Taylor picked out: are the above four colors: navy blue, turquoise blue, an orangey prawn and white as a neutral! Finding Nemo won an Oscar in 2004 for Best Animated Feature! One of my favorite descriptions of the movie is its tagline: 71% of the Earth's surface is covered by water. That's a lot of space to find one fish! Love it! And we hope you will love playing along with us! And to make it a little sweeter - there is blog candy involved!!!

BLOG CANDY did you say!??!??!!
Taylor is giving away YOUR choice of the newest holiday stamp sets that have just been released from Taylored Expressions as blog candy for this challenge!!! HOW yummy is that???!!! Thank You SO much Taylor!!!

Sankari's Card Inspired by the movie: Finding Nemo:
I am so excited to play along for this challenge - I love this movie but I was really stumped for what to make and then I thought about the different themes of the movie: father/son, friendship, finding courage, letting go etc. and the one theme that I loved was just the essence of the father and son relationship that through everything their love was for "always". Marlin's adventure to find his son Nemo is so amazing and inspirational - that no matter what the odds, you will do anything and overcome anything for love! I was inspired by the journey and so I created a card with little fishes jumping out of the ocean with the words "me and you - always" for the sentiment.

here is a closer peek of the fishes :)

All the papers, fishes, frame etc. is digital - you can check out my blog for more information :)
I had so much fun playing along. A huge thank you to Taylor for the yummy blog candy and for being our guest designer! Woot!
Big hugs!
Sankari :)

Taylor's Card Inspired by the movie: Finding Nemo:

Taylor has always been an inspiration to me with her awesome style and amazingly beautiful creations! This week she has created this most amazing card with her awesome clear favor circles to make a little virtual fish bowl! So awesome!!

I'm so excited to be the special guest designer for the Cinema Saturday Challenge today! When Sankari asked if I'd be interested I knew right away what movie I wanted to use for inspiration! I'm a sucker for animated movies and Finding Nemo is one of my absolute favorites. I just love that little fish!

This is simply such a beautiful card!!!
Please check out Taylor's blog for more details of her lovely creation!

Last week, our Audrey went to Juli for here sweet card that captured a father/son moment of Mrs. Doubtfire and this week are happy that Juli has joined us as our guest designer:

Juli's Card Inspired by the movie: Finding Nemo
Here is the inspiration from Juli: My first thought for "Finding Nemo"was the love of a father for his children, which reminded me of the "Mrs. Doubtfire" Challenge two weeks ago! But that image is so 'two weeks ago'! heehee My next thought was the same stamp set, but the image of the little boy building a sand castle. This image reminds me not only of the beach and the sea, but also of the 'home' Nemo leaves behind in search of adventure. Then I thought about a clown fish made out of punches. So how to incorporate the two ideas? Why a birthday card with a 'gift' attached - a clown fish jumbo clippie bookmark!

I went to the Disney "Finding Nemo" website and looked at gallery pictures there to try to re-create a clown fish for the clippie bookmark. I like the outcome, and it got thumbs up and smiles from my kids too! Thanks to Taylor for the color combo challenge - I always enjoy trying new color combinations, especially when they are still inside my comfort zone! THANK YOU Sankari and Brooke for awarding me the Audrey Award, and giving me the chance to be a guest designer this week! I look forward to seeing everyones creations...ENJOY!

Thank you so much Juli! You can check out more info on Juli's blog

We hope you will join us next week as our guest designer and hope you will display your Audrey on your blog! A huge thanks to everyone who played along with us! You guys ROCK!!!

So are you ready to play along this week!!!!!! Well, all you have to do is to create a card, layout, altered project etc that is inspired by the movie: Finding Nemo with the following colors:

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #53 - Elizabeth - the Golden Age

Welcome to our 53rd challenge where this week we are featuring the 2007 Oscar winning movie: Elizabeth the Golden Age with Oscar nominated actress Cate Blanchett. This is an AMAZING movie full of amazing color, amazing costumes, amazing cinematography about the rule of the Virgin Queen: Elizabeth. For this movie challenge - you can play with either this movie or its prequel: Elizabeth (another amazing movie with amazing cinematography!). According to Wikipedia, this movie: Elizabeth the Golden Age"won the Academy Award for Best Costume Design and Cate Blanchett received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Blanchett was an Oscar nominee for Best Actress for Elizabeth as well." We hope you enjoy playing along with this challenge!

This week's challenge requirement is to use a
crown somewhere in your creation.
It can be a little crown, maybe a crown in your DP,
or bling or anything at all!
Get your royal on!

Sankari's Creation Inspired by the movie: Elizabeth the Golden Age

There was something so captivating about the first movie Elizabeth - there was something just lovely to watch with the amazing costumes (wow - the details are simply lovely) and the same in the movie Elizabeth the Golden Age. I just loved the cinematography and colors and the sets, costumes were like eye candy. I adore Cate Blanchett in these movies - she is an amazing actress - and the strength of character, emotion, vulnerability under the strength and beauty are simply lovely to watch. I am in LOVE with this dress/costume that Elizabeth wore and so i chose it for my card inspiration. You can kind of see the scoring that I did on the top to mimic the dress: (this picture comes from Grace Magazine)

I chose the sentiment: "Anything is Possible" because I felt that is how she ruled - she created possibilities and roles that were not thought possible.

I loved making this card because I was watching the movie as I made it and love making cards when everything feels like it comes together :)
For more details - check out my blog!

I hope you have a chance to play along with us this week!!!
Can't wait to see your creations!!

Hugs!
Sankari :)

Brooke's Creation Inspired by the movie: Elizabeth the Golden Age

For the challenge this week I decided to make a piece of jewelry inspired by the Queen. So instead of cutting scoring paper I was digging through my gems and findings then polishing silver.. I really enjoyed making this piece. I decided to include a little angle to watch over the queen as she make decisions for her country... It wouldn't be royal if it didn't include gems and precious metal.
Come visit me on my blog for a little family History and pictures of Queen Elizabeth..

Hugs
Brooke
