The Audrey Award, Cinema Inspirations and Sneak Peeks

Happy Friday Everyone!!!

We were just blown away by all of your beautiful creations for the movie "Chronicles of Narnia"!!! Wow!!! Seriously amazing - we couldn't even pick one because each of you did such an amazing job and it was so fun to read your stories as to where you got your inspiration from! Wow! What can we say? You all totally caught the spirit of the Cinema Saturday Challenge. We love it when you can look at a card and you totally understand where the inspiration came from (movie). We both agree that this is a great challenge, because when else would you ever get to make cards like we do here? It's not your ordinary Birthday card!

That's really what made it so hard - each of you connected with this movie in such amazing ways and it was difficult to pick - so we thought it would be fun to try something new - a little Cinema Saturday Roundup of sorts. It was so much fun to see the inspiration behind these cards - either in the color choices from the movie, some particular sentiment, the costumes, furniture, other themes etc. Here are some of the cinema saturday inspired creations (be sure to check out the inspiration behind each of their creations).

Our Audrey pick this week goes to Sue Drees. Her beautiful Lion card has such a soft and regal feel about it and her sentiment really captures the work that each of the children had to do to fulfill the prophecy and really come into their own destiny. We loved the gold and the glittery frame and still can't believe how beautifully the lion stamp was colored! Congratulations Sue, we hope you will display your Audrey and join us next week as our guest designer!

A huge huge huge thank you to everyone who played!! Each of you had such a unique take on the movie and we feel so blessed and grateful to have such amazing artists as yourselves playing along! Its been such a great week to see all familiar faces and new faces playing along! We hope each of you had fun!!!

So are you ready for our Sneak Peek Friday to start?! Here is the first sneak peek!

I wish I could have played along. I am a huge fan of the books and the movies were good too.
For this week, I think that looks like a saddle maybe. I can't wait to see the next peeks

Congrats Sue!!
Oooh -I love Fridays! I am thinking along the same lines as Erica, a saddle, western, cowboy theme-y film.

Carol Dunstan said...

congrats Sue!

I'm thinking not saddle... to me it looks like it may be an arm withthe buckles holding on leather armour or something (I think you can see the creamy under shirt at the inner elbow). Leather armour indicates quite an early time period... or another fantasy movie where development is like an early tme period of ours! Off to get cuppa and thinking cap!

Ladies - your guesses are amazing!!! I love reading each guess!!! We should form a detective agency!! :)

We could SO easily have picked ever one of you for the Audrey... All the writing of where you got your inspiration and the reason you used the colors the feelings that your sentiment invoked... Wooooo. Truly amazing women we have hear on our challenge.. Thanks form the bottom of my(Our) heart(s) for joining us each week..

Hi Girls , I am gonna take a stab in the dark and have a wild guess .... would this weeks film be "A Nights Tale" ?
Have a great day Hugs Susie xx

Susie, I was about to suggest A Knight's Tale too... the more I thought about it the more the pic felt familiar and then I thought of that. Then again, I was just thinking that the anniversary of Heath's death is coming up, so maybe I just have him on the brain (despite the Karl Urban talk lately!)

I had so much fun making last weeks card. I am extremely pleased to be in the round up. Keep them coming!

Now for the peek... Well... We watched all the Lord of the Rings movies over the holiday so it look like Legolas to me. I hope I am right That would be Very FUN!
Thanks again CSCC!

Congrats Sue! Last weeks challenge was fun and I'm glad to have the chance to play along. I like the artistic interpretations of this challenge.

My guess is that the next one is about a knight as well. I can hardly wait to.

Lindsay Harrison said...

My guess is Maverick with Mel Gibson!

The cards this week were hott!

Carol Dunstan said...

I should point out that I don't recall leather armour from A Knight's Tale... but it may just be the angle that is not allowing light to reflect of the plate armour, but leather strapping would be common. It's more the angle of the arm (I'm convinced, but then I have been way off before) that makes me think of a popular image for this movie. Still, waiting for another peek to see if that can confirm my suspicions! Might watch this arvo anyway :)

I am so glad that you all had fun last week! Every single card/creation was simply awesome! I think that is one thing I LOVE about this challenge - is how one movie can inspire so many different gorgeous cards! Thank you all for playing!!

And your guesses are awesome! Can't wait to see what peek Brooke has for you next!! :)

And Carol - I seem to be seeing alot of Karl Urban these days - always think of YOU!!! And my little heart went pitter patter to Johnny's award for being the artist of the Decade! (thanks for telling me Brooke :))) yay!

Sankari W. said...

Oh Sorry - I meant Actor of the Decade

Carol Dunstan said...

oooh, I hadn't seen that Sankari, thanks! (btw, have you seen the Alica trailer? :) Have also come across some awesome costume shots... though they don't have Mr Depp as they were on display, not character shots lol)

Carol Dunstan said...

ok, new sneak peek isn't absolute confirmation but I can see where it would fit... looks like armour from a distance and maybe flags in a crowd in front? I remember a scene of riding through a crowd like that but can't remember if it is William or the Prince that is done up like that...

Carol Dunstan said...

actually, upon second look that's not armour behind the flag things, but it still very much reminds me of the decorations (small flags or penants) around the jousts and stuff

Carol Dunstan said...

shrubbery... well that could be anything! But makes me think of Monty Python's The Holy Grail! Hmm...

Hi Sankari and Brooke!!! So good to see you back! I didn't have the chance to play along with Narnia last week, so I'm waiting eagerly which movie to come up now... No idea yet - the leather pieces look like some medieval or fantasy thing, but you wouldn't present another fantasy movie straight after Narnia, right? Going to bed now, I'll come back tomorrow at European beakfast time! See you then!

Sankari W. said...

HI Christiane!!! SO good to see you!!! Hope you are doing well!!! Just the words "European breakfast" sounds sooo good!!! I miss traveling :( Can't wait to "see" you tomorrow!!!

Nancy K said...

Oh yeah...A Knight's Tale. Good call ladies -I'm fancying some Ben&Jerry's Heath Bar Crunch now...
LOL
Can't wait til the morning!

Jaimee said...

hmm these ones are too hard..but i liked Carol idea about heath ledger...the third pic looks like scrubby kind of australian bush and the one that looks like a saddle makes me think maybe Brokeback Mountain???? probably way off

Erica said...

I am still thinking western. Now I am thinking City Slickers or Blazing Saddles. Maybe old John Wayne, but I haven't seen any of his movies, so I couldn't guess at one of those. Mom could though! Can't wait to find out what it is!

Jennie said...

Congrats to the Sue! It was a fun challenge for the first of the year and I enjoyed getting my creative cinema mojo going :o)

As far as the new sneak peeks...Oh my goodness I haven't the slightest. I am not good with slivers of pics but I am going to go out on a limb and say Legends of the Fall... It looks like a saddle and possibly a scenery scene. Looking forward to seeing what it is tomorrow.

Wow, I'm blown away that I won the coveted Audrey. I loved the Narnia movie and was torn between the lion and the ice queen. But I have always been a sap for good prevails over evil, so I dusted off the beautiful lion stamp. Thanks so very much, I too looked through the entries and they were awesome. Talented and creative bunch of ladies you have following this challenge.

Susie Sugar said...

I can't beleive I guessed right first from only the first photo peek !!lol it was just the first thing that poped into my head ....a lucky guess, I guess
